ReceiptJar turns a batch of receipt images into spreadsheet rows you can review before downloading. It is designed for one-time cleanup—not ongoing bookkeeping or automatic tax filing.
What the CSV contains
The paid download and sample export use the same core schema.
- Date
- Normalized receipt date, when detected
- Vendor
- Merchant name, or blank when uncertain
- Total
- Final receipt total—not the largest number on the page
- Tax
- Explicit tax amount, including 0.00 when printed
- Category
- Editable category for sorting and review
- FileName
- Original filename for tracing a row back to its receipt
- Notes
- Export note that can be replaced in your spreadsheet

Inputs that work best
- Clear JPG, PNG, or WEBP receipt photos
- Original merchant PDF receipts
- One readable receipt per image
- Visible merchant, date, total, and tax labels

- Blurred, folded, faded, or cropped receipts
- Email pages printed to PDF instead of original receipts
- Handwritten totals or unusual layouts

When ReceiptJar is the wrong tool
Use accounting software instead if you need bank feeds, reimbursements, approval workflows, tax rules, multi-user access, or long-term document storage. ReceiptJar is intentionally a short-lived extraction and formatting utility.
